Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Two years ago I experienced symptoms that impacted my running. Running has been a huge part of my life since I joined Sole Sisters in the year 2000. I have loved every minute of running, especially alongside my closest friends.
After the London marathon in 2015 I didnt feel "right" and took myself off to get tested - after a sequence of tests/ scans I had a prognosis of Ovarian cancer. Through the amazing skills of my surgeon at St Michaels Hospital, he performed the full hysterectomy and tumour removal, but he discovered that the tumour was branching out of my small intestine, and not ovarian related.
Two weeks post op I was diagnosed with a rare form of bowel cancer called G.I.S.T. I have been receiving an oral form of medication since Sept '15 and so far the scan results are clear.
Early this year I decided to enter the ballot for the NYC marathon, never did I think I would get in but the amazing happened - I got in!
And so the training begins.....
