I am doing this trek as a personal challenge but obviously mainly to raise money for Macmillan.

So many of my friends lives have been adversly and tragicly affected by cancer and I have also supported many young people through my work too.

I am lucky I had a tumour on my spine aged 16 which was not cancer but has left me with permanent nerve damage meaning this walk will be physically challenging -  BUT  2 million people are living with cancer in the UK today and around 300,000 new cases are diagnosed every year, more than 1 in 3 of us will be diagnosed at some stage in our lives - so it affects us all.
