My trek for Alzheimer's Society · 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020 ·
In August 2019, a group of friends will be walking 46 miles in two days from Penrith to Ravenglass, traversing the distance of the Lake District.
Many of our group are unseasoned walkers and they have taken up the mantle of this challenge in order to raise money for Alzheimer's Society having seen the impact dementia has had upon a close friend and his family.
On day one we will be walking out of Penrith and up onto the old Roman road known as High Street. From there we will negotiate the roof of the Lake District before finishing the day in Ambleside.
The following day we will make our way out onto the Cumberia Way, towards Low Hall Garth. From here we will continue west up toward Wetherlam, before dropping down to Cockley Back and eventually reaching Eskdale. This will lead us out towards the sea and our end point, Ravenglass.
Any support will be greatly received.
