PenTAG 3 Peaks Challenge 22-24 July 2011

Why do a semi-random collection of health researchers decide to climb the highest mountain peaks in England, Scotland and Wales?
Why not? ... seemed like a good idea at the time ... a beer-storming conversation down the pub after work that has taken on a life of its own (especially after we realised we had an able and willing driver in our midst!).
We are raising money for Friends of Suchana, the UK fundraising arm of a charity in West Bengal, India. See the great work they do towards the education and health of marginalised children: http://suchana-community.org/
Most of us are from PenTAG: http://sites.pcmd.ac.uk/pentag/
We are: Chris Hyde (our esteemed driver and veteran of an impressive 22hr Peak challenge during his Med School years); Lou Crathorne (all-round 'I'll do anything once' swimmer/climber/pogo-stick champion etc.); Becky Whear (active outdoor supremo whose idea of romance is climbing Kilimanjaro on your honeymoon night); Dane Wilkins (Becky's other half, whose idea of romance is a nice comfy hotel by the beach thanks very much); Jaime Peters (recent veteran of West Highland Way, Leicester's one-way system and long train journeys with Rob); Rob Anderson (last climbed a mountain in 1989 in flip-flops, but keen to relieve his youth all the same); Alex Wilmshurst (Lou's pal from London, who will set the pace!); Rich Fox (son of Chris Fox, and 19-year-old veteran of expeditions to Iceland, Borneo and Ivybridge)
Why July 22-24?
It's the only weekend Lou is not donning a rubber suit and swimming in various lakes and rivers around Devon.
Do we know what we are doing?
We are working on this bit, helped by the compulsive event organising talents of Lou. Er ... We have also been to the pub to talk about it.
If you live/work in Exeter, do also support us by attending our cake bake-off (Monday 27th June) or our Veysey quiz evening (Thursday 30th June). Contact Rob for more details.
