Story
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
University of Lincoln Community Volunteers workers Pam Holbrook & Jane Kilby, students Amy Guy, Carrie Upton, & James Watson, Anna Proctor from the Youth Offending Service and various other friends recently visited India to work with the charity People First International.
PFI was founded by a local man in 1992 to help some of the poorest children in India who do not have access to things we take for granted e.g. a roof over their heads, food in their tummies & an education.
It costs just over £100 to maintain a school for a month & we have pledged to raise £1200 before our trip so that the University can initially support a school for a year with a view to providing ongoing support & visits thereafter. We have to date far exceed this target & are now well on our way to being able to provide a further year's funding to the school.
