We are currently fundraising on behalf of Masjid Al-Hikmah (Islamic Centre Upton Park) also locally known as Selwyn Rd Masjid.

The Masjid is currently undergoing a major extension & renovation project to increase the size of the Masjid & Madrasah. This is in order to provide a better space for Salah & teaching. 

The last such works were over TWENTY-FIVE years ago - so long overdue!

The works commenced late 2017 after intial fundraising had been made during Ramadhan 1438 (2917).

Phase 1 of the project is at Number 70 Selwyn Rd, previously used for the girls Maktab classes. This work has included the excavation in the garden for the extension at basement level which will be joined up with number 72. You can see photos of the works on our profile. 

Why we are fundraising for this Masjid? Well, We have a special affinity having been taught at the Maktab in the late 80’s & early to mid 90’s. This is an area in which we have grown up & seen many changes over the last 30 years to the demographics of the local Muslim community. 

We have also been doing khidmat at the Masjid where possible including assisting with the Madrasah, so I know first hand how desperately needed updated facilities and a better learning space is. 

We have set a target of 10,000GBP which we hope to achieve this Ramadhan. So we humbly request you all to support us in our aim. 

Remember in this blessed month of Ramadhan Allah Almighty multplies rewarda manifold. Some say 70 times more, but the reality is it can much more than this also.
