For one in two of us, cancer will change everything. When it does, so can we. Our services, advice, therapies and support are for you and the people close to you, helping everyone to live with and beyond cancer. The funds we raise also support vital, pioneering research and clinical trials.

Story

Hello.

Yes, I, Jordan am raising money for charity. Bare with me though as to do this money raising I will be physically exerting my self (me sen for those based in Yorkshire). When you recover from fainting you may wonder how and why…

In June of last year I lost a close friend, travel companion and housemate to cancer. I met Richard Pover, 'Po', at Sheffield University and grew to know and love someone who was hilarious, intelligent and a fantastic friend to me and to everyone in our group. Despite his strength he could not overcome a rare form of the disease and we lost Po in the Summer of 2013.

So in honour of his memory I, and a dozen others, will trek non-stop the 63 miles from Sheffield (the place where we all met Richard and our spiritual homeland) to his home town of Tarporley, Chester between the 14th and 15th June.

We will be raising money for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity. I can’t think of a more deserving charity to honour Po’s memory than the hospital which provided such excellent care to our friend, not just medically but also providing a place which made losing someone who should never have been taken from us that little more bearable.
