Update:

Thank you to all of you who have supported us. The day was fantastic, and we were very lucky with the weather which was just perfect for walking. The start was a little daunting with the first stage being 7.5 miles mainly up hill, but that did have the advantage (we though) of the only way after that being down, big mistake, after lunch there was another little climb, or that was how Stan termed it.

The Barmouth brigade excelled themselves at the rest stops with a wonderful array of refreshments and transport for those with blisters etc, but having enjoyed their fare we found we just had to finish. Pepper did double our distance but we decided that Marmite would remain in our lodgings so she had a nice lazy day.

We were lucky enough to meet the then organisers of the
Barmouth Walk in a Austrian bed and breakfast in 2002.  They persuaded us to take part and we had
such fun that we have joined the walk ever since.  There are in fact about 8 different walks, so
the route taken changes from year to year and the efforts of the local support
team result in a wonderfully marked route and refreshments at the rest stops.

We are hoping to complete the full 20 miles (Pepper the Labrador
will do about 40), we just need to make sure we get to the final rest station,
before they shut the route.
