To develop new, and improve existing, services for children and their families with life-shortening conditions, on the Isle of Wight.

Story

Hello, we’re Pertemps Isle of Wight, a team of 6 local Islanders who have taken the decision to make this year the year where we do everything we can to raise some money for The Sophie Rolf Trust, also more commonly known as KissyPuppy. Although none of us here knew Sophie or her family personally we are all touched by the story and why the charity was formed.

This year the Sophie Rolf Trust have the mammoth task of raising as much money as they can in order to fulfil the goal of achieving £300,000. This is in order to provide a bespoke area for children and young people who have been diagnosed with life shortening conditions, and where they can receive day respite, social and emotional support. New spaces for children and young people will be included, such as rooms for group work, relaxation, therapy rooms and areas for socialising.

We want to try and help in our own small way, so throughout 2018 we will be taking part and organising various events which will hopefully help us reach our £5000 target; we've kicked the fund off with £250.00 donation to get us started. Some of the events which are already planned are as follows:

Travelling Bear – We’ll be asking our lovely clients, who are both existing and new to us, if they have space for a little one to take away on their travels. We'll then be asking them to take a holiday snap of the Bear next to a landmark or easily Identifiable site to show just where you’ve travelled to. For each photo we publish on social media, we’ll donate £20.00 to Just Giving pot. This will be on-going throughout 2018.

Saturday May 7th, The Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge - Deb Bates (leader of the pack at Team IW) will be putting her best foot forward in an attempt to complete a 52km hike from Chale to Cowes. This is both the furthest distance and longest period of time walking that she's ever done. It won't be easy but it will be a good taster of what's to come in October when Debs, Laura and Rhiannon all attempt to trek the whole distance around the Island a whopping 106km....watch this space for more info on that one! In the meantime Saturdays walk will be no small feat so please dig deep and chuck us some pennies, remember we're doing it for one reason....to get to our target of £5k for the Sophie Rolf Trust.

Sunday 13th May, Walk The Wight - We'll be taking part in one of the Island's most famed charitable events, Walk The Wight. This will be a challenge for us all, with some who have done it previously and some who have not, but hopefully with your support we can power through and represent our amazing chosen charity!

Pertemps Pub Quiz, taking place at The Ocean Deck in Sandown on Friday 23rd of March. Call us now to book your team in 01983 533235. £3 per person, max. team of 5. Your team could be in with a chance to win £100.
