I have chosen Marie Curie Cancer Care as my charity for two reasons: firstly for the inspirational work that it does, and secondly because it honours a great women scientist. The charity provides nurses to care for terminally ill patients in their own homes or in the nine hospices they run. They also provide practical and emotional support for carers and families at a time when they really need it.
