Zoe and Sharon managed to complete their challenge of climbing to the top of Machu Picchu even without their team leader Scott. He unfortunately was told by his doctor that his recent eye operation was not successful therefore he was not allowed to fly but had to have another op !!

Both ladies found the challenge very tough but found the whole experience quite breathtaking. on behalf of Petal we are very proud of you two and the fantastic money you have raised !!

We have now setup our own Petal website which shows how much we have raised since the charity was founded and which organisations we have donated to.

A HUGE THANKS to everyone who attended and supported 'Petal in the Park'. I hope you all had a great night despite the horrendous weather. Thanks to you guys we managed to raise nearly £3k from the event which is just fantastic.

 

 

 

 

 

Petal.The Christine Woodberry Memorial Trust was founded after my mum lost her battle to ovarian cancer on the 13th April 2008. Petal will help to recognise and support the courage and determination of thousands of men, women and children throughout England and Wales who work with and cope with cancer everyday.

It is through events such as us climbing Machu Picchu along with corporate and public sponsorship which will help us to continue to raise funds that will help in the care, treatment and support of cancer patients and their families.

In the three years that Petal has been raising funds we have managed to raise over £30,000. This money has gone to so many worthy charities including Weston Hospice, St Margaret's Hospice, Weston oncology unit, Cancer research and many other local cancer charities.

We are dedicating what we raise through our climb and many other events that we will be putting on this year to Weston Hospice. I was lucky enough to be invited to the Hospice and given a tour of the facilities and see for myself what a wonderful job they do!! It was truly inspiring and has certainly motivated me into helping out where i can.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO NOT ONLY HAS TAKEN TIME OUT TO READ THIS BUT HAS ALSO BEEN KIND ENOUGH TO DONATE TO THE CAUSE.
