Mind

We’re Mind, the mental health charity. We believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Today. Now. Whether you’re stressed, depressed or in crisis. We’ll listen, give support and advice, and fight your corner.

Story

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page! After turning 50 this year, I decided to give myself a real challenge, and what better way to do so than to make myself run a marathon? And as this really isn’t something I intend on doing again, I want to make it one of the big ones — The London Marathon. I'm also going to try to raise a bit of money for a charity I really believe in. Can you help me?

Mind are a charity that provides support for people with mental
health issues and promotes awareness of this. As someone who has had a lifetime of suffering from mental health issues, particularly depression, I know how important getting the right support is. I’ve also found exercise a great way to help your mood in a positive way, so a marathon seems pretty fitting, really!

When I was growing up, awareness of issues like depression and anxiety were in short supply.

Now, we have a society that’s more aware of these problems without the stigma of the past, and understands that it can affect anyone. I want to help continue this positive change.

I know from experience how Mind can help people though their personal struggles and get them back to a good place.
