Stand by Me (previously Kids Alive) is caring for over 3000 children in some of the world’s poorest countries. Through our children’s homes, schools and care centres we transform the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable children, by providing them with care that meets their individual needs.

Story

In August, 2010, we will be leading a team of eleven people out to the Karundas Children's Home in . Kids Alive adopted the Mt Kenya Boys’ Home in 2000 which was then caring for 50 boys in crisis. Since then, the Karundas Children's Centre has been added which includes the House of Joy, the Rebecca House for HIV-infected children and the House of Deborah for vulnerable girls. The Karundas Centre also has an Infirmary which provides medical care and the Hall Mead Academy which provides education for residential children, as well as children from immediate communities.

Kids Alive is a Christian Charity that looks after children, often orphaned or where the family couldn't look after them. The children love outside activities and especially enjoy playing football. As part of the project, we will be organising a number of activities for the children to engage in, over a two week period, and are looking to take various pieces of equipment out to , to aid us with the project. We also hope to take the children out to buy them all new shoes and a day swimming.
