I have lived in Preston Brook, Runcorn for 24 years, I am 60 years old and I have set myself quite a challenge.

My wife Margo sadly passed away on October, 5th, 2011. Her son Paul (my step son) lives in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. We have been visiting him for about 12 years.

Margo's last wish was that I scatter her ashes on the mighty Mississippi River.

As a consequence Paul and I are going to cycle the complete length of the river from it's source in Minnesota, south through 10 States to the Gulf of Mexico where it exits. The distance is more than 3000 miles.

We shall be following the river very closely along the Mississippi River Trail a recognised cycle route.

After the ride Paul and I will scatter Margo's ashes on a bit of the river near New Orleans that Margo was really fond of. We shall probably do this from the Paddle Steamer "The Natchez".
