Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hello…I hope at least some of you may remember me, last year I completed the Action Challenge Ultra Challenge walking from the Olympic Park London to Cambridge 100km or 62.2 miles, many of you who looked at my Just Giving page gave so very generously to my chosen charity Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, this year the same charity has changed their name to Bloodwise but they are still carrying out the same most valuable work and research into Blood Cancers.

Those of you who know me or read my page last year may remember that I was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphoma Leukaemia (CLL) in February 2014 and underwent chemotherapy, it was less than twelve months after completing this that I did the challenge. I am still being reviewed regularly and pleased to say my medical team are happy with my condition which is stabilised, I feel very fit, training well and again up for the challenge!!

It certainly was a challenge but here we are a year on and a year older and yes I am going for another Ultra Challenge, this year it is a completely new challenge on the South Coast walking from Eastbourne to Arundel, taking on the cliffs of the coastal to Beachy Head, then inland to Seven Sisters Country Park and along the South Downs to the halfway point, Brighton. Onward we go to Devils Dyke before catching the first glimpse of the Cathedral Spire in historic Arundel to finish. This is undulating countryside and the walk is 75% off road and is equally, if not more, challenging than last year.

I hope I thanked everyone, if not personally, in other ways for the manner in which you so generously supported me last year, I raised well over £1000 for Leukaemia Research. This year again I am asking for your support in sponsoring my Ultra Challenge, the money I raise will again go to research in Blood Cancers with Bloodwise.
