Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In January 2015 I got off the couch and decided I wanted to change my lifestyle and get fit, I had heard of the NHS Couch to 5K programme and decided to give it a go. The first run was hell, and that was only a few minutes running and a few minutes walking.  Here I am 9 months later running 10K+ 3 times a week and now I’m set for my next challenge, a Half Marathon.

I chose BLESMA after speaking to one of their Support Officer (Tom) at our local Armed Forces Day, what this charity does for injured Servicemen and Women for all three services is incredible and like most Military based charities it is being overshadowed by the larger ones. With your help BLESMA will be able to continue to do its vital work ensuring our limbless veterans lead independent and fulfilling lives for many years to come.

During my Royal Navy career I was lucky, I came back from Afghanistan and numerous Sea deployments in one piece so please sponsor me and support this great charity.  If you're in the area come
along on the day and watch me drag myself 13 and a bit miles round the streets of Peterborough (October 11th).
