Captain Peter Barford has chosen Second Hope as his official  charity for 2017. It is enormously close to Peter and Rona's heart as it was started by one of their good friends, Julie, the week before she died.

Launched in September 2015, Second Hope is the only UK charity specifically for those living with or affected by advanced breast cancer, also known as secondary, metastatic or Stage IV breast cancer. Advanced breast cancer means that the cancer has spread and, while treatable, is incurable. 

Our mission is to provide hope and strength by raising awareness, providing support, and funding research into advanced breast cancer. The charity is run purely by volunteers, which means that ALL donations received go to fulfil our charitable aims and objectives, not to pay salaries and expensive overheads.
