Peter's Marathon challenge

London Marathon 2024 · 21 April 2024 ·
I am running the London marathon in April 2024 for Sue Ryder. This will be my second marathon as I ran the Yorkshire marathon last October with my eldest daughter Hannah where we started our fundraising campaign.
My sister works for Sue Ryder out of Manorlands Hospice in Oxenhope. I know how hard she works for the patients not only in the hospice but in the wider community as well. I really want to support the work that she and her colleagues undertake. She really does provide the highest level of compassionate care and puts patients and service users at the heart of everything she does.
The first priest (Fr Pearson) that ministered at the church when I first moved to Leeds was cared for recently at Manorlands; and a good friend received end of life care at Wheatfields in Leeds. We all seem to know of someone that’s been cared for by Sue Ryder nurses.
Also, I work for the Care Quality Commission, and I hear of those small but significant examples of staff/volunteers going the extra mile to support not only patients but to the wider family and friends and see the very measurable impact they have on everyone’s lives.
I want to support Sue Ryder's five-year plan by raising valuable funds for the organisation to help it deliver this. What would that be used for. Well did you know £5 could pay for breakfast for a patient being cared for in one of their hospices; £20 could pay for a patient’s meals for a day; £25 could help fund an hour of expert care and fill a family’s final days with love and £65 could pay for a session of bereavement counselling.
All donations would be gratefully received. Thank you for your support.
