Event: Positively Parkinson's Solent Swim Challenge, on 12 July 2020
In memory of Dennis Knight
A group of 12 swimmers will take on the epic Solent Swim on Sunday 5 September 2021 to raise awareness and funds for Cure Parkinson's. You can also take part in the challenge by completing the same distance of 5,000m in your local pool.

Story

I'm taking part in the Positively Parkinson's Swim Challenge to raise awareness and help people with Parkinson's adjust to life after their diagnosis, have a positive mindset to face the challenges ahead, plus raise funds for Cure Parkinson's.

Parkinson's is largely controlled through medication and Cure Parkinson's, a leading Parkinson's medical research charity, is totally committed to slowing, halting and reversing the condition.

To compliment medication, exercise plays a key part in an individuals management plan which motivates determination and a positive attitude to live the best life they can, through being active, confident, empowered and positive.

The Positively Parkinson's message is very clear: don't let anything deter you from reaching your full potential, whatever the circumstances; don't wait for bad things in life to go away, instead face the challenges head on; challenge your comfort zone, be grateful for what you have and above all, have FUN and make the most of everything, with the support of a caring community.

That's why I'm taking on the challenge. Thank you for your support.
