The Great Thames Challenge · 22 September 2017

We support adults who’ve had foster care or residential care experience. We’re here to make sure that anyone with care experience can get the support they need to help them achieve their maximum potential.

Story

I recently rowed 123 miles of the River Thames in a skiff from Lechlade to Teddington in 8 days with my friend Hugo Hodge. We were joined by 4 guest rowers along the way, and Lindsay followed by van in support. At times we were met with thunder, lightning, hail, torrential rain and strong winds, but there was always a decent spate of sunshine that raised our spirits, and each day we set off with renewed vigour. I’m raising money for Rees Foundation, a charity that provides much needed support for young people and adults who have lived within the care system. Our guest rowers were Deborah Hodge, Peter Sanders, Owen Cutts and Paul Handley; their contribution to the success of this challenge was invaluable .
