My Dad attends the Blind Social Centre in Middlesbrough every week.  This is a vital lifeline and gives him a chance to make new friends, increase his social circle and maintain this independent lifestyle.  They provide transport, personal support and a home cooked meal.  He lives at home despite being registered blind, having mobility problems and multiple other disabilities.  In short he's a trouper and they are a vital lifeline to him and hundreds of other people from Teesside with social, practical and personal support!

The years of government austerity have been very difficult for the Society financially.  They are a local self-funding charity and receive no help from national charities or government funding.  Despite this they still provide the only daily social centre for Blind People in the North of England.  Reaching my target will make a crucial difference to the organisation's future.
