OK, so you are being asked for more money.......but just a couple of quid if you can spare it.
Friends who I'm connected with on Strava will know that I have foolishly committed myself to the Ron Hill 31 Challenge this month #RunEveryDay which is basically a personal challenge that I took on with the self serving intention of improving my own lifestyle and wellbeing. www.ronhill.com/runeveryday
I won't lie, this probably isn't as much fun as the publicity seem to suggest and to be honest, being 50 and slightly worn out, this hasn't been easy and motivation fluctuates considerably so I thought I would give myself a small incentive by raising a few quid for a great cause.
I have set myself the target of 160km for the month and as at day 20, I have covered 109km, so still on target! That has to be worth £160 between my friends?
The Ideas Partnership is supporting the Childrens Centre in Fushe, Kosova, a very poor district of Pristina where the main aim is to get children to school . They have setup a kindergarten which a friend and colleague at University of Surrey was involved in helping to build.
It's a great community but the main income for many families is selling plastic rubbish collected from the city for around 1 euro a day , which is why single parent families would really struggle if their kids went to school and didn't earn, so as you see just £160 would go a long way!
