I am joining the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race on Legs 6, North Pacific Rim and Leg 7, Seattle to New York through the Panama Canal and will cover around 12,000 Nm sailing in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.  Something this enormous I have wanted to do for many years but the responsibility of family and children have always come first but now I am able to realize those far off dreams I had in the past.  It also, now my children are grown up, is an opportune way of doing something for other children in the world who really need help and a hand up in life.
