Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Some of you will be aware that ithe summer of 2010 my Dad was diagnosed with an aggressive, fast growing tumour in his leg. Initial scan interpretation suggested that this tumour may have spread to his lungs. At this stage I felt distraught and helpless - my Dad means everything to me and his grand daughters - the only thing I could think of doing was applying to run the London Marthon.
Subsequent PET scans have suggested that distant spread of the cancer has not occured. My Dad has also had the tumour resected, undergone radiotherapy and is back to playing golf! This is all thanks to Mr Skeene and his team at Bournemouth Hospital who have been great throughout.
Little is still known about these rare soft tissue tumours. By pledging my fundraising to cancer research it is my hope that early and accurate detection can be improved as well as treatment to improve prognosis.
