A great friend of mine lost his battle with cancer in October 2021, he was cared for in his last days at a hospice, his family were very grateful for the care and support they provided. This is a way for me to raise funds for my local hospice ‘Cransley’ doing an activity I love so they can continue helping families during difficult times.

So I decided to sign up for the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge.This is a 25 mile trek which summits the three peaks of North Yorkshire and is completed in under 12 hours. After a short period of reflection, about 3 days, I decided to make an addition to my challenge and 7 days after the North Yorkshire challenge I am going to do the UK  3 Peaks challenge, Climbing the 3 tallest mountains of the Uk in a 24 hour period. Anyone who know me is aware of my love of climbing mountains, and although I have bested all 3 mountains in the last 3 years, Ben Nevis twice, Scafell Pike thrice, and Snowdon 4 times, once in gale force winds of over 45mph this year, to which I have to apologise to my wife Christine who thought we were going to die that day, to complete this challenge has long been an ambition of mine. So to do it and raise some money for a local hospice seems a perfect combination. So my new revised challenge is the North Yorkshire 3 peaks & UK 3 Peaks (24 hour) Challenge in the same week. My fund raising target reflects the two challenges and hopefully with everyone’s support I will reach and surpass it, I thank you in advance and will thank you individually for any donations and look forward to starting to train for and have no doubt I will succeed.
