AoH UK CIO raises money to provide a free education for impoverished children. We raise money to support more than 400 places at the AoH charity school in Bengaluru. With your donations we make a difference for some of the 7 million children in India living in slum conditions.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 10 June I will be attempting the London Ride of Champions - a 90 mile route which will be the course for the best cyclists in the world during the London Olympics. In effect, we will be warming the route up for them! The route of the Olympic road race starts in London, goes through Surrey countryside, including the daunting Box Hill, and heads back into London via Leatherhead. It makes me tired just to write this.

This year I am raising money for Acts of Hope which is a Christian charity providing education to some of the neediest children in India. The charity supports a school near Bangalore and all the children come from the poorest and most underprivileged families living in local rural and slum villages. Education is their only hope to extricate themselves from their appalling circumstances.
I hope to raise up to £10400 to provide books and school uniforms for a new group of children and for the expansion of the school. I personally know the Executive Director of Acts of Hope who frequently visits the school and I am confident that every penny will make a difference to the lives of these children. I've attached some information about the charity including some pictures of children at the school and their environment, to give you some idea of the needs the charity is meeting - for more information please visit www.actsofhope.org.uk
