3 Peaks Challenge · 13 June 2019

We believe that everyone with a life-limiting illness should be able to live well for as long as possible & have the choice to die at home. We will put you & your family at the heart of our specialist care, day & night, to live the best quality life you can & to make every moment together matter.

Story

Our daughter Natalie would have been 21 on the 20th December 2018. Sadly her & her sister died from a neurological degenerative condition called Batten Disease - Misha in 2002 aged 7 & Natalie in 2003 aged just 5.

The team at Rennie Grove supported us weekly at the time, with the specialist Pepper Nurses coming in weekly to help care for the children & us as a family. We wanted to highlight the work of this fantastic charity & also celebrate what would have been Natalie's 21st birthday by hoping to raise £2100 (£100 for each year) by taking on The Three peaks Challenge with a group of friends. Most knew the girls & so together we're taking on this challenge to make a difference.

from Rennie Grove - "Our vision is that patients with life-limiting illness in our area can choose how and where they want to be cared for towards the end of life. We provide 24/7 responsive Hospice at Home care; a range of day services and support for all the family during the illness and through bereavement."
