READLEY is dedicated to offering help and support to anyone affected by asbestos related disease. As a charity we know the devastating effects of being diagnosed with a disease caused by asbestos. We offer advice and assistance in claiming compensation and benefits and access to specialist nurses.

Story

My dad was diagnosed with mesothelioma (a cancer caused by exposure to asbestos) after developing symptoms in late 2020 - around a year ago.

Recently I have been lucky enough to be introduced to Sam and Jo from Readley through some very caring colleagues.  Readley provide wide ranging emotional and practical support in the North East of England to people with the disease and to those close to them.

To be honest, I was already due to be taking part in Outlaw X - that's a 2km swim, a 90km bike ride and a 21km run - which, in my case, will take about 6 hours to complete. I hadn't planned to raise money for any charities, which is why this page is so late in the day.  But, on hearing about Readley and the work they do, I wanted to take the opportunity to highlight their efforts and encourage you to consider making a donation to their work.
