Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. For the first time in years, and for perhaps the last time in their current incarnations, British Council Manchester FC clashed with British Council London FC on Saturday 31st October 2009, on Wandsworth Common. The Londoners claimed a deserved 5-3 victory but it was a decent game until the end and thanks must go to all involved.

Colin Earley, a keen footballer and someone who worked in Manchester and overseas, sadly passed away earlier this year, and this game provided a fine opportunity to remember him while raising some money for charity. Mark Hewitt remembers Colin thus:

"For all those who didn't know Colin he played with us (BC) from 1992 and really started the Bc football thing in the north. He liked a beer, football and to have a good shout on the football pitch, a good lad who is very much missed. He died this year from cancer, he was only 40. One down side he supported City."

Saturday's Goalscorers - we would encourage a donation of £5.

Own-goalscorers - £10? (Neil - in the absence of howlers on the day thanks for filling this slot!)

Interested/disinterested parties - please dig as deep as you can for a cause more valiant than ours!

Whoever you are, whatever you can afford, a donation would be very much appreciated.

Cheers!

Pete
