Story
Can you spare me a couple of pounds? Those of you who are close to me will know that for the last year I have been suffering from reduced kidney function - nothing terminal - but enough to be concerned. It will affect me for the rest of my life. This experience has brought home to me how fragile life is and how we take things for granted. Thankfully the NHS have been superb in supporting me but please see below what Kidney Wales are also doing to support people with issues and you'll understand that what they do is important...
By donating to this years campaign you will be supporting Kidney Wales work improving the lives of over 10,000 patients across the country living with this life long, chronic condition. Being diagnosed with chronic kidney disease can have a massive impact on the lives of an individual and their families, and can results in lengthy dialysis sessions and the need for a transplant. There are many forms of the condition, multiple treatments available however there is no cure. For over 50 years Kidney Wales has been a pillar of support to these families living with the daily struggles of this life changing condition. From refurbishing units, funding health care staff, providing financial support and a patient advocacy service, organising activities & events for families and campaigning for the change of law on organ donation in Wales patients remain at the heart of everything that we do.
