Fundraising for Isabel Hospice
Story
Nobody wants to go to a hospice, whether to spend your last moments there or visit a loved one. I hope nobody reading this ever has to spend a moment in any hospice but if there is ever a time when anyone is in need, I'm sure everyone can agree that to maintain dignity, care and love for our loved ones we'd want to absolute best possible support. Not just for the person we are saying goodbye to but the people that are heartbroken and left behind.
My dear friend David is doing this Trek with me, when I first asked him to join me on this trek he said "I'll commit only to reading the email". David has unfortunately had to experience what a hospice can offer. 10 years ago David married his childhood sweetheart and our friend from school, Samantha, tragically 9 years ago, aged 24, Sam passed away after a battle with cancer and spent her last days in the care of a hospice. David has told me how amazing the hospice were and how the aftercare was greatly appreciated by him so we want to raise as much money as possible for Isabel Hospice to be able to offer the same level of care and support to whoever may need it in the future. Following on from the incredible help and support David received he is now in a very happy place and fortunately last year I had the honourable task to be best man at David & his new, wonderful wife Laura's wedding.
Isabel Hospice provides FREE care and support to patients and their families eastern Hertfordshire. Hospice care is about helping people to live well for as long as possible and have a good death in the place of their choice when the time comes. Without your help, we could not make this possible for our patients and their families. Each year we care for around 1,400 patients and 700 family members. But we know there are even more people that need our help.I would be extremely grateful for any kind contribution you are able donate towards my challenge today. So dig deep and donate as much as you can and think of my poor thighs while I'm climbing a great big hill for 3 days and you're sat at home having a lovely weekend.
