On the 21st August 2008 David went to work as usual at the Biffa Waste Services Limited landfill site in Mallusk. Tragically he never came home. At some point in the early afternoon on the 21st August David went missing. Family, friends and emergency services started the search later that day.

The British Red Cross fire and emergency support service (FESS) volunteers, who equipped with a specially adapted vehicle, provided immediate safe shelter -- along with clothing, food and shower facilities, and emotional support to our family, friends and search teams.

David's body was found under tonnes of compacted rubbish the following evening.

Just maybe, I can help support the British Red Cross so that they can assist others, perhaps even in similar circumstances, and hopefully have a better outcome.
