Story
The last year has been incredibly difficult and challenging for everyone, but even more so for people that don't have a safe place to call home. Across the UK, thousands of people are still homeless and due to the pandemic this is set to rise even further.
I am taking part in the Oxford Half Marathon in aid of Crisis to help make a difference. This is the last of 3 half marathons I am running this autumn - with Southampton & Winchester already now complete.
I first started fundraising for Crisis in 2010 when we sailed around Great Britain over a two year period. My good friend and colleague Dr Grace Kenny waived us off from Lymington. Grace passed away earlier this year and I’m completing this run in her memory. Grace studied PPE at Oxford and graduated in 1964. Grace’s work in education space planning has helped shaped the brief of hundreds of new buildings; the core methodology she developed is still in use to this day. Running for CRISIS in Oxford this October will be a privilege for me. Any donations are welcome - every penny makes a difference.
Homelessness is not inevitable and TOGETHER we can end it. Thank you.
