At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Every year in September my wife Pat has walked 26 miles in order
to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society. This year the walks may not happen in the usual way and it has been suggested that people arrange their own fundraising walks to further the work of the Society,

I would like to help this year. At 91, with the loss of mobility,
hearing, vision and now with memory loss added to the mix, I think that walking 26 miles is slightly ambitious on my part! I cannot promise a set number of miles as each day is different for me but I would like to do 26 walks between now and the end of September. I have always relished a challenge!!

The Alzheimer’s Society funds research, help and support
to not only those living with Alzheimer’s but to their families and carers too.

I would be so grateful if any of you were able to sponsor me on this latest mission. I have the Tshirt now I just have to do the walks!!

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
