Story
I work as a volunteer for Starfish Malawi and have seen their work first hand out in Malawi. It is amazing and inspirational to see how the resources given to the charity are being used in such a life changing way, that gives children the hope of a brighter future through better education and healthcare. Starfish have facilitated the building of many classrooms, allowing children to learn indoors. Supporters have raised funds for desks, blackboards, chalk and board dusters so that the teachers, as well as children, can have a better environment to teach and learn.
The work continues to develop and to meet the needs of those the charity seeks to serve, showing God's love in action to many. This year the charity will open their new, free outpatients health clinic which will serve a community of 13,000 people, who previously had to walk 12 kms to the nearest free clinic and then 12kms to get back home again.
Starfish are meeting many needs through their projects but they cannot continue do it without ongoing funding.
That is why I am taking part in this 2.6 Challenge so that funding for their work can continue. As we all need to stay safe and stay at home, I will be walking 26 laps of all the paths in my front and back garden, twice a day for 7 days. That will be 364 laps.
Please help me to help Starfish Malawi continue their excellent work in the rural areas of Malawi by donating what you are able to this Challenge.
THANK YOU!
