We are the world’s largest charity dedicated to saving lives through research. Our vision is to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Cancer Research UK is a registered charity in England and Wales (1089464), Scotland (SC041666), the Isle of Man (1103) and Jersey (247).

Story

Why oh why do I get myself into these things? What started out as an innocent conversation about team building exercises suddenly transformed into discussions about training plans, nutrition, rowing machines and sponsored shirts.

We have entered two teams of three into the Cannock Adventure Race, a 10km Trail Run, Followed by a 25km Mountain Bike, and a 1km Kayak.

With the event taking place on the day of our Christmas bash bragging rights are at stake. Its fair to say Team 1 consisting of Jon, Stuart and Myself are the under dogs (seen as we are all unfit and dont do a great deal of exercise), where as team two with Iain, Dave and John all have vast amounts of fitness and mountain biking experience, no pressure guys!.

Its all in aid of Cancer Research, I think most people have been touched by cancer in some way or another, and Cancer Research do great work in detecting, treating and finding cures for so many different types of cancer.

"Sooner or later we will find cures for all cancers. Let’s make it sooner" - Cancer Research UK

So to those of you who are thinking of sponsoring us, please give generously, and to my team mates, lets train harder and make sure we do the charity proud.
