Story
My name is Peter and I'm an Education Officer with Life Charity, a pro-life charity which primarily provides practical support to women facing crisis pregnancies and speaks out with a compassionate voice against abortion.
The main thing I do in my job is deliver presentations on the issues of abortion and euthanasia from the pro-life perspective, in a compassionate and non-judgemental manner.
I'm cycling 50km around London at night (https://www.nightrider.org.uk/) to raise £10,000 for Life ! It's a very ambitious target, I know, but if I make it, I'll be carrying out the event on an Action Man bicycle (click on 'photos' for an idea of what it will look like).
Over the past two years at Life we've seen the number of women and men being helped through our counselling and practical support service rapidly increase. I have also seen with my own eyes how the people I present to, when given a real opportunity to explore the issue of abortion, are open-minded and honest enough with themselves to give the unborn child a chance. A chance of life. A chance of dignity. A chance to grow into the person whom he or she was meant to be.
I'm fundraising because I believe that the work Life do is vitally important. Abortion takes one life and harms another. If Life is to fulfill its mission statement of 'making abortion a thing of the past', it needs all the support it can get.
