Carers Worldwide is the only organisation exclusively highlighting and tackling the issues facing unpaid family carers in developing countries. This vulnerable and hidden group are at high risk of social stigma, isolation, ill health and poverty. We promote their inclusion and give them a voice.

Story

Thank you for visiting our Just Giving page.  Long term care for people with chronic illnesses and disabilities presents an urgent challenge around the world.  the burden placed on unpaid family carers is immense and has a direct impact on their physical health, mental and emotional wellbeing and economic security.  Carers Worldwide highlights the vital role played by carers.  They advocate for their inclusion in mainstream development programs and the development of carer-specific services.  To learn more visit www.carersworldwide.org

Kate and I are both teachers at Wisbech Grammar School.  Through our work in education we are fully aware of the support carers, especially young carers need and the strain that chronic illness can put on the family members who look after their loved one.  By running this year's Virgin London Marathon we hope to raise £3000 to help carers and their families all over the world.
