Story
The time has come to set myself a challenge (lockdown is clearly having a strange effect on me)! And what better way to do so than with Samuel and Joseph by my side! Over the weekend of 20th and 21st March 2021, we will be completing a 24 hour (virtual) cycle ride from our house in South West London to ‘the promised land’ of St James Park (aka the home of Newcastle United FC) - which is handily exactly 300 miles away. One of us will always be cycling between 8am and 8pm each day - ensuring we reach our ‘destination’ in time!
But why are we doing this, and why now? Well, that weekend will mark the 17th anniversary since my dear Dad left us and, as he never got to meet his Grandsons, this seems like a great way to celebrate the huge impact he had on my life , and in turn, theirs. My Dad was also really funny - and therefore Comic Relief seems like a very appropriate charity to choose - not least because of the support they provide for those in need not only at home, but around the world.
Any amount you can spare would be hugely appreciated (if for no other reason than to pressure me into following through with this challenge)!
And yes, we will be wearing red noses when we‘re riding (as long suffering Newcastle United fans, we need all light relief we can get)!
