Parkinson's is a progressive brain condition, which means it gets worse over time. There are lots of different treatments and therapies to help manage the symptoms of Parkinson's but at the moment there is no cure .
Every hour two people in the UK are told they have Parkinson's that equates to 1 in 350 Adults have Parkinson's, which is 145,000 in total in the UK.
It is estimated that by 2065 the number of people living with Parkinson's will have doubled.
There is some amazing research going on that is vital to finding a cure for Parkinson's and every penny raised will be going to help fund this research.
During the first 3 weeks in April starting 4 April we will be doing a few on line activities, meetings and fun events surrounding World Parkinson's day which falls on Sunday 11 April. We would love for you to join in but if this is not possible any donations would be very much appreciated
Raising awareness of this condition is so important so that people understand what Parkinson's is. Most of you will know the 3 main symptoms. Tremor (Shaking), Slowness of movement and rigidity (Muscle stiffness).. There are in fact 40 symptoms that affect those with Parkinson's and some of these are can be very cruel and inflict a lot of pain and suffering.
Please share this with your friends, family, carers and neighbours and help us to fund that vital research to help those people with Parkinson's
Thank you from everybody at Peterborough Parkinson's
