Dear All, 

Two years ago Martin Lowles and I (pictured in training) completed the London toBrighton bike ride on the Tandem “Rocket”, and in doing so raised, with your help, the better part of £6,000.  This made a significant contribution to the Sam Beare Hospice and the Richard Jenner Trust.  This charity, as you may know, provides priceless palliative care for those unfortunate enough to need it.  It is a local charity that is not government funded, and therefore relies on the generosity and voluntary attention of those who are prepared to be associated with it.  Personally, and as a business, it is the primary charity to which we dedicate all of our fund-raising activities.

         Last year we supported, and even cycled along some of the way with,Philip Deeker, my brother-in-law, on his marathon charity bike ride through the Alps in aid of the Mines Advisory Group.  

        This year, start time 06.00 hours, it is our turn to contribute to the ongoing costs of the Sam Beare Hospice.  I hope to complete the 54 miles in under four hours, and even crack Ditchling Beacon without stopping!  (I shall of course be riding the 54 miles back home afterwards as well).  If I could raise £10 for every mile I ride this would make the effort more compelling, and would provide the Hospice with much needed funds to ensure the volunteers can carry on their work. Every donation that you make helps someone who really needs and deserves our help.

Quick update: Managed to fall off the bike last Saturday midday, right in front of the Edwinns Brasserie at the Egham Wick entrance to Great Windsor Park. Hurt like hell and was in no small measure embarassing until I remembered those for whom I am riding and you are helping with your sponsorship. PC
