Flora London Marathon · 30 October 2008
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I was born with a serious heart defect. A partial repair was made in 1971, but I spent the following 29 years not being able to run or to exercise to any degree without becoming out of breath very quickly.
In 2000, I had my aortic valve replaced with a mechanical valve. I can now run and do all the things I couldn't previously.
Over the last couple of years, I have run a number of half marathons, but in April 2009, I will be running my first marathon, the Flora London Marathon.
The work that the British Heart Foundation carries out will help the thousands of babies born each year with heart problems as well as providing the parents of those babies the help and support they need.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Heart Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
