Story

I'm raising money for the YMCA at this years CEO sleepout, I hope you can help by supporting me!

I'll be sleeping rough on the 7th November, just me, a sleeping bag, the cold weather, and the cold hard concrete. It's not something I'm looking forward to, but I believe it's a really important issue.

I know several people who have had to sleep rough through no fault of their own, and if help wasn't available god knows what would have happened to them. Someone close to me passed away whilst being homeless a couple of years ago, so this cause is really personal to me. Hence I'd really appreciate your help!

At a recent charity event I met with Anne Rhind, Director of Development and the YMCA in Milton Keynes and the ever increasing homeless issue in Milton Keynes. I must admit, I've seen the tents in the underpasses, and people sleeping rough at the train station, but I never understood quite how much of an issue homelessness is to the youth in the UK. I was also fairly naive about the resources available to them - or lack of resources as it turns out!

The YMCA are building an amazing new center in Milton Keynes which offers accommodation hope to the youth of Milton Keynes. To give you an idea of what your sponsorship will buy - £9.99 will buy a set of bath towels for a room for a resident, £19.99 will buy a toaster for a resident, £20.00 will buy a double bedding set.

I'd appreciate any sponsorship that you can offer!

I'll be keeping you up to date with my plans and will be videoing live on the night to let you know how I'm getting on.

Thanks,

Pete
