Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The seven volumes of Alfred Wainwright’s ‘Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells” contain descriptions of 214 fells, collectively known as “The Wainwrights”. I climbed Scafell Pike, my first Wainwright, in May 2005. March 28th 2011 found me and a group of friends at the top of Starling Dodd, as I completed all 214 Wainwrights.

To celebrate, I am raising money for The Lake District Search and Mountain Rescue Association – an organisation that (so far) I have never had to use, but whose existence is a great reassurance.

Many people think that mountain rescue is government funded, but it is entirely dependent on donations, so I hope that you will agree that this is a worthy cause and give generously.

Finally, special thanks to Bill, Peter, Doug, Cath, Brendan and Di for their support on the final walk.
