As a Transaction Services team we are running in the AJ Bell Great Bristol Run.

I will be taking part in the 10km race, it's a nice course so hopefully it will be a quick time. All our donations will be matched by Deloitte, so please do dig deep!

BWHC fund the little things that go a long way to relieve anxiety, promote recovery and healing, as well as providing the added extras that make a patient’s stay that bit easier. From iPads, games for children, book trolleys, to in-hospital arts and entertainment and a mobile hairdresser for the wards. 

Recent funding has been invested in end-of-life training courses, a new playroom, dementia clocks, and equipment. All this in addition to the most innovative and emerging technologies and treatments that can change or even save a patient’s life that wouldn’t otherwise be available.

In particular the money raised by Deloitte goes towards supporting additional extra-curricular lessons for patients in the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children whilst they are out of the classroom, often for extended periods. They provide additional teachers to deliver subjects such as music and art, giving long-term residents of the hospital a more rounded and typical learning experience. Thank you for sharing my passion to support them and go the extra mile for our NHS.

If you feel that 10km isn’t tough enough a challenge for me, feel comfort in the fact I also ran the KVK in April, 1 vertical kilometre across 15 miles of inland hills and coastal trails around St Agnes. It was a really warm day, with very little breeze, but I managed to complete the course in 3 hours! More details of that race here:
