I have been a keen runner for the past fifteen years and I spend most of my time running outdoors in the country site and parks. The thought of not been able to do this because of the immense increase of new houses being build everywhere is frightening. More and more green fields disappear to make room for new housing.

Fields in Trust is a charity who protects our green spaces and playing fields. They work together with landowners, community groups and policy makers to champion the value of our parks and green spaces to achieve better protection for their future. Green spaces are not just pleasant nice-to haves, there to be taken for granted, they are the green hearts of our communities - places to run, to play, to meet and to amble.  Fields in Trust champions and supports our parks and green spaces by protecting them for people to enjoy in perpetuity. Because once lost, they are lost forever.

Fields in Trust have already protected over 2,700 green spaces and parks in the UK and their aim is that 75% of the UK population will be living within a 10-minute walk of a protected park or green space by 2022.

Fields in Trust rely on donations from members and funds raised through events to carry on their amazing work. I have been fortunate to be selected for Team FIT to run this years London Marathon. I therefore would like to ask you to help me raise funds for such an incredible Charity.

I have just started my training and I will keep you updated on my progress over the next 15 weeks.
