Pevensey Community Fire Station is a one pump On-Call Fire Station, they all give up their spare time from their full time jobs to support their community and East Sussex as a whole.
The Firefighters Charity is a great way to support Firefighter's physical and mental wellbeing, sometimes even just to know it's there. This service is funded 100% from charity fundraising and donations.
Some of the crew at Pevensey Fire Station will be running the Eastbourne half marathon in fire kit on March 5th. They also want to aim for a finishing time of sub 2 hours, which will force them to Run the whole thing and not be tempted to slow to a walk.
Our fire kit is excellent at keeping out heat, but it is also excellent at keeping in heat, so they're anticipating that sub 2 hours will be a tough time to aim for.
