Pewsey Netball Club goes to Cape Town

Emily Hues is raising money for Julia's House

Pewsey Netball Club goes to Cape Town · 28 January 2021

No parent expects to live longer than their child, but for many of the families we support, this is a reality. Julia's House, the Dorset & Wiltshire Children's Hospice charity provides frequent respite care for children and support for their families at home, in the community and at our hospice.

Story

Pewsey Netball Club are packing their bags and are off to Cape Town (the home of the next Netball World Cup) in South Africa, (virtually for now of course!) During this third lockdown a team of 27 ladies are aiming to walk, run, jog, cycle, spin, swim etc our way through the 8243 miles to Cape Town. So far we're three weeks in and have travelled a massive 1953 miles. We'll keep you updated on our progress.

We had planned a number of fundraising events for our Charity of the Year, Julia's House Children's Hospice. But sadly due to COVID they've all had to be postponed.

Julia’s House provides frequent, flexible care for children with life-limited or life-threatening conditions to give their parents a much-needed break. Amazingly, Julia’s House has to raise 95 per cent of the money it needs each year to run this vital service which is why I have chosen to support them. Your kind sponsorship will make a life-changing difference to these families.
