Hello, I'm Patrick from PGS Services. I've worked at PGS for about ten years building and maintaining our IT systems and apps. I was born and grew up in Zambia and spent my late teens and early twenties exploring the bush (countryside/outback) out there at every opportunity.
Village Water is transforming lives in Zambia & Mozambique with safe water, sanitation & hygiene so when I was asked if I'd be interested in helping to raise money for Village Water I jumped at the chance. Village Water is a lean and transparent charity delivering highly targeted solutions that make a huge difference. Crucially we'll be able to track the improvements achieved with our contributions so we'll know how the money we've raised is being used.
Our target is to raise enough money to build a well and transform the lives of a group of people living in a rural village community. I'm hoping to bring together office staff, trade partners and customers with contributions of any amount. A few of us from PGS will be putting our bodies on the line to carry out challenges over the coming months.
As my challenge, I'll be cycling coast to coast from Whitehaven to Sunderland in April. You can only imagine how difficult that's going to be. 140 miles of hills, fells and dales. Please be generous. Thank you!
** All public donations to Village Water that are given before 26 February are being matched by the UK government, that means every £1 you give to our fundraising page could be worth £2. Your donation will count towards our fundraising target to provide a rural village in Zambia with a water-point. Match funding from the UK government will help the charity expand their work to urban Lusaka in Zambia. **
Once the money has been raised and allocated to a project we plan to document the process with stories and photos so that we can share the experience with all the kind and generous people that have donated and participated.
PGS Services Ltd has got us off to a great start with an initial donation for half the required amount (£2,300) and we are aiming to raise the rest by the end of April.
Thanks for reading and I hope you'll decide to join us on our fundraising journey.
