Story
In 2011, one of our very close friends died of Breast Cancer. In 2012 a group of good friends launched a fundraising campaign to raise money for the Nottingham Breast Institute where she was treated. In 2012 the group raised just over £100,000 by completing a Coast to Coast bike ride and holding a Ball. The money raised was enough to buy a mammography machine, and support a mobile breast screening lorry.
Due to the demand of the current mobile breast screening unit, the original mammography machine is unfortunately wearing and a replacement is required, which will cost in the region of £150,000.
So Phil and I have dusted down our bikes again to join the group of 42 cyclists. We are not cyclists, so 200 miles from Edinburgh to Newcastle, in 3 days will be a huge challenge. Training has been yet another challenge around our jobs and children, and it’s only thanks to family and friends for there support of childcare that we are able to complete this bike ride.
Thank you for reading our just giving page and we very much appreciate your support.
